Southern Lancashire Heeler OwnersFun, friends, and support for all Lancashire Heeler owners! The Lancashire Heeler- a small dog with huge character and versatility. They were originally bred for cattle herding mostly in and around Lancashire. It was in 1981 that they first became registered with the kennel club as a rare breed in the working group, although the breed can actually be traced back over a hundred years as a small farm dog with several private registers kept and now they have champion status with the kennel club and are the smallest breed within the pastoral group. Today there are still some heelers working on farms, but you may also see heelers doing agility, obedience and showing. Over the past few years the number of Lancashire Heeler owners in the south of England has grown considerably. It became apparent that there was an appetite for more activities in the South of England and more specifically, some "fun" related activities for Heeler owners. This has prompted us to form the Southern Lancashire Heeler Owners with the aim of supporting Heeler owners, helping them enjoy their Heeler(s) and meet other Heeler owners by having fun events, walks, companion shows, training days, picnics and parties. Please let us know if you would like to take part in any of our activities. Julie Chairperson: Mrs Julie Coleman
