The Southern Lancashire Heeler OwnersFun, friends, and support for all Lancashire Heeler owners!Lancashire Heeler Hike - A GRAND DAY OUT!As we drove down the M4 there was some blue sky. "It might stay dry" I thought. Then as we neared Bracknell down came the rain with no mercy for heeler walkers. A text on my phone said “we are in the overflow car park as it’s so busy here.” The main car park was full …. So I`m not the only mad person out in this weather! Seems there was a bikeathon and another ramble on as well. There I was standing in the overflow car park in pouring rain, with a couple of other heeler owners, wondering if anyone else would come, when Heelers and owners started appearing from all around (30 owners, 15 Heelers and 4 other dogs in total). So we set of into Bracknell Forest grateful that we had Jackie to navigate. A few yards along our path a person flew overhead amongst the trees, quite made me jump, surprised a few Heelers too. It was a few more yards before we saw the zip wire. As we walked and talked and got to know one another we quite forgot the rain and we were able to enjoy the beauty of our surroundings. Next path right our navigator indicates till a man perched on the bank under a large umbrella informs us there are still some more bikers to come that way. A quick replanning of route! Hope Jackie knows where she’s going, as she led us all down a very steep muddy zig zaggy path but it was ok as we were soon back safely in the car park. We then all set of to a nearby hall where we enjoyed homemade cakes, tea and coffee. I drove home thinking what a wonderful time I'd had, how many new friends I'd made and my heeler had really enjoyed himself too. What a grand day out!
